WEBER AQUA WS-20-LCD water softeners are a new group of softeners, which are immensely popular on the Polish market and have been serving without failure for many years. The devices have been equipped with a number of new solutions aimed at making water softening even easier and more efficient. The technical solutions introduced were based on the experience and recommendations of current WEBER users. Particularly noteworthy is, among other things, the hybrid, fully automatic supervision system of the softening process, as well as simple and intuitive control limited to setting only 3 parameters in the device (clock, time of regeneration process start, water hardness).

The Weber softener from the Aqua Weber line has an ion-exchange bed capacity of 20 liters. The manufacturer ensures correct operation of the device at a water hardness of no more than 21 degrees on the German scale The purchase of the Weber Clear water softener will not only affect the comfort - life of each resident, it is above all a compact device, easy to use and extremely efficient during operation.

HOW DOES THE WEBER AQUA WS-20-LCD WATER SOFTENER WORK?

The main components of the WEBER unit are the ion exchange bed, brine tank, by-pass, control head and overflow protection.

Water from the mains flows through the ion exchange bed, which takes out the calcium and magnesium ions responsible for water hardness. In their place, sodium ions are transferred. In this way, water of much lower hardness is obtained.

Since water in different regions has different hardness, the softener is equipped with a by-pass, a device that allows you to adjust the softening power to the hardness of the water. In this way, the water hardness of interest to the user can be set precisely each time.

The ion-exchange bed, absorbing calcium and magnesium ions and emitting sodium ions, gradually loses its effectiveness during use, so it should be regenerated periodically. Regeneration is carried out in several stages and consists in flushing out calcium and magnesium ions from the bed and charging it with sodium ions. Charging with sodium ions is done with brine. Brine is created in the brine tank by dissolving salt tablets in water, which should be replenished regularly by the user. The entire process, with the exception of salt replenishment, is automatic, and the control head is responsible for its proper operation.

Electric power supply
The device requires an electrical power supply of 230V. In the event of a power outage, the program data of the electronic controller is maintained for about 48 hours.

Quality of feed water
The softener is designed to treat water free of iron, manganese compounds, as well as ammonium ion. In order to ensure the correct operation of the device, to extend the life and quality of the produced water, it is prohibited to treat water that exceeds the applicable standards of physicochemical composition (excluding total hardness). Therefore, the softener should not be used to treat water from its own intake (well). Before treating water from your own intake, you would need to test the water for iron, manganese and ammonium ion content.

Plumbing system
The plumbing system to which the softener is connected should be free of deposits. If there are significant deposits of scale and iron, it is recommended to replace the pipes with new ones. If this is not possible, set the output hardness of the water on the softener to 5 dH

Copper installation
For copper installation, the water should not be completely softened, so that it does not gain corrosive properties. Therefore, with copper pipes, the output hardness should be set at 5 dH.

Pre-filter
The device is installed at the cold water inlet to the building. Before the softener, it is recommended to install a protective pre-filter (body) with a mechanical cartridge (foam or string, with a minimum of 20 microns), these products are available in our store. The purpose of the filter is to ensure the protection of the water softener from large mechanical particles that could lead to failure.

Location of the softener and discharge of washings.
Usually softeners are located in the boiler room, utility room, garage or bathroom near the sewage system.

Protection against flooding
The Weber AQUA WS-20-LCD softener is equipped with dual anti-flooding protection: that is, a brine float valve and an overflow elbow on the housing. The anti-flooding float is located in the well (a plastic tube inside the housing). When the tank overflows, the float cuts off the water supply to the unit. The overflow elbow of the brine tank drain should be routed to the sewer pipe, using a flexible hose and stabilize the connection with a plastic clamping clamp. The drain hose should be installed in such a way that water cannot back up from the sewer into the hose.

NOTE: Each drain should be equipped with a separate hose. Do not connect the rinse drain and the hose from the overflow elbow together. The overflow hose should be placed in the sewer drain, preferably with a special trap.

Regeneration of the bed
Regeneration of the ion exchange bed starts automatically after treating a certain amount of water. The time of regeneration has been factory-set at 2:00 am. It is also important that during the operation of the softener you systematically check the level of salt, necessary for the proper operation of the device. The salt level should not be lower than 1/4 of the height of the tank, nor higher than 1/2. When refilling the salt, make sure that no debris enters the tank. After checking the salt level, the lid of the tank should be closed.

NOTES. The salt level must always be a few centimeters lower than the water level in the tank.

The LCD head is controlled by a microcomputer and allows to set the operating parameters of the water treatment system. The operation of the LCD head is based on modern technology of rotating ceramic disks. The disks are made of high-quality ceramic material, resistant to abrasion, corrosion, deposition of dirt and iron, so they do not accumulate in the controller, which further improves its operation.
