The sedimentation cartridge, PS5-Protect filter owes its antibacterial protective properties not only to the non-woven polypropylene material from which it is made, but also to the safe substance used, approved by the FDA as the so-called GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe). Unlike other similar products, the PS1-Protect USTM foam insert does not contain nanomaterials or other chemicals that could cause side effects, including allergic reactions.

The PS-PROTECT cartridge is characterized by a gradient structure in which the density of the fibers increases to the interior of the cartridge, thereby decreasing the microneedle, which enhances the increased filtration efficiency. The product successfully retains solid contaminants such as rust, sand, silt and suspended solids with a diameter as small as 1 micrometer.

The operation of the antibacterial cartridge is as follows: Dirty water flows through the cartridge towards its core. Sediments in it are retained by micropores, the diameter of which decreases toward the core. Larger particles are already captured near the surface, while small particles are captured in deeper layers. This increases the effective surface area and filtration efficiency, and thus the life of the cartridge. The substance contained in the cartridges has a bactericidal effect on the cell wall - the main element that distinguishes a bacterial cell from a human cell. The action of this substance also caused morphological changes leading to the disruption of its structural integrity (lysis) and, as a result, eliminates bacteria or prevents their multiplication. The selective action of the substance makes it completely safe for humans.
