WEBER AQUA WS water softeners are a line of devices from the renowned manufacturer USTM, which have gained great popularity on the Polish market and have been operating reliably for years. They are equipped with a number of modern solutions that improve and facilitate the water softening process. The technologies used have been developed based on the manufacturer's experience and recommendations from current USTM users. Noteworthy features include a hybrid, fully automatic softening process monitoring system and simple and intuitive controls limited to setting only 3 parameters in the device (timer, regeneration start time, water hardness).

The Weber water softener from the Aqua WS-25-LCD series is equipped with a 25-liter ion exchange bed. The device reduces water hardness by neutralizing magnesium and calcium ions responsible for the formation of limescale deposits on fittings, bathtubs, and shower enclosures. The manufacturer declares correct operation at water hardness up to 30 degrees on the German scale, but the device can also operate at higher hardness levels - in this case, the regeneration process will take place more often. The purchase of the Weber Aqua WS-25-LCD-W model significantly increases the comfort of everyday water use for residents. It is also important that the device is compact, easy to use, and very efficient during operation. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE WEBER AQUA WS-25-LCD SOFTENER

Power supply
The device requires a 230V power supply. In the event of a power failure, the electronic controller's program data is retained for approximately 48 hours.

Feed water quality
The softener is designed for treating water free of iron, manganese, and ammonium ions. In order to ensure the correct operation of the device, extend its service life, and maintain the quality of the water produced, it is prohibited to treat water that exceeds the applicable standards for physicochemical composition (excluding total hardness). Therefore, the softener should not be used to treat water from your own source (well). Before treating water from your own source, you should test the water for iron, manganese, and ammonium ion content.

Plumbing system
The plumbing system to which the softener is connected should be free of deposits. In the event of significant limescale and iron deposits, it is recommended to replace the pipes with new ones. If this is not possible, set the initial water hardness on the softener to 5 dH.

Copper installation
In the case of copper installations, water should not be completely softened to prevent it from becoming corrosive. Therefore, for copper pipes, the initial hardness should be set at 5 dH.

Pre-filter
The device is installed at the cold water inlet to the building. It is recommended to install a protective pre-filter (body) with a mechanical cartridge (foam or string, with a minimum micron rating of 20 microns) upstream of the softener. The purpose of the filter is to protect the water softener from large mechanical particles that could lead to failure.

Location of the softener and drainage of wash water

Softeners are usually located in the boiler room, utility room, garage, or bathroom near the sewage system. It is recommended to install a WSP-SYFON USTM siphon - dedicated to softeners, which is available in our warehouse (to prevent odors from escaping from the sewage system and to prevent backflow of bacteria through the hose to the softener). A reinforced hose with anti-kink braiding is recommended for draining the rinse water (a kinked hose may result in salty water after regeneration or incomplete regeneration, which will result in hard or salty water).

Flood protection
The Weber AQUA WS-25-LCD softener is equipped with double flood protection: a brine float valve and an overflow elbow on the housing. The anti-flood float is located in the well (a plastic tube inside the housing). When the tank overflows, the float cuts off the water supply to the device. The overflow elbow of the brine tank drain should be connected to a sewer pipe using a flexible hose and secured with a plastic clamp. The drain hose should be installed in such a way that water cannot flow back from the sewer into the hose. A pressure gauge should be located upstream of the softener to control the water pressure.

Bed regeneration
Ion exchange bed regeneration starts automatically after a certain amount of water has been treated. The regeneration time is factory set to 2:00 a.m. It is also important to regularly check the salt level during operation of the softener, as salt is necessary for the proper functioning of the device. The salt level should not be lower than 1/4 of the tank height, nor higher than 1/2. When refilling salt, make sure that no contaminants enter the tank. After checking the salt level, the tank cover should be closed.

NOTE: The salt level must always be a few centimeters lower than the water level in the tank.

The LCD head is controlled by a microcomputer and allows you to set the operating parameters of the water treatment system. The LCD head is based on modern rotating ceramic disc technology. The discs are made of high-quality ceramic material that is resistant to abrasion, corrosion, and the accumulation of impurities and iron, which prevents them from accumulating in the controller and further improves its performance.

HOW DOES THE WEBER AQUA WS-25-LCD WATER SOFTENER WORK?

The main components of the device are: ion exchange bed, brine tank, bypass, control head, and overflow protection.

Water from the mains flows through an ion exchange bed, which removes calcium and magnesium ions responsible for water hardness. Sodium ions are transferred in their place. This results in water with significantly lower hardness. Since water hardness varies in different regions, the bypass softener is equipped with a hardness adjustment screw that allows the softening power to be adjusted to the hardness of the water. This allows the user to precisely set the desired water hardness each time.


The ion exchange bed, which absorbs calcium and magnesium ions and emits sodium ions, gradually loses its effectiveness during use, which is why it must be regenerated periodically. Regeneration takes place in several stages and consists of flushing calcium and magnesium ions from the bed and recharging it with sodium ions. Sodium ions are charged using brine. Brine is produced in the brine tank by dissolving salt tablets in water, which the user should replenish regularly. The entire process, except for replenishing the salt, is automatic, and a control head is responsible for its proper operation.

The Weber AQUA WS-25-LCD water softener has a Hygienic Certificate issued by the National Institute of Public Health - National Institute of Hygiene. The certificate confirms the positive opinion of devices intended for contact with drinking water.

In the event of a softener failure, the manufacturer provides service and warranty support. The warranty period is 2 years.
